Ryder has Surgery, We Compare Bruins Old and New #1 Center

According to the Bruins, Michael Ryder had a facial bone repaired today in surgery. Peter Chiarelli will provide greater detail about the surgery prior the club's morning skate tomorrow.

Yes, that is very broad from the Bruins but that is what it has been like all week long.

Finally, a lot of the media has run stories this week about Joe Thornton and the trade that shipped him out. Most people referring to it as one of the worst trades of all time. However, when Thornton left the Bruins spent the available cap space on Marc Savard and Zdeno Chara. Savard was the new number one center in town. Let's compate the two in terms of offensive production.

Heading into Tuesday night, the two rank number six and 11 respectively in NHL scoring.

Marc Savard (T-6) - 21G, 41A, 62Points

Joe Thornton (11) - 12G, 45A, 57Points

And just to throw this guy in, David Krejci who is number 12 in NHL scoring.
David Krejci (12) - 19G, 37A, 56Points
